MISCELLANEOUS
Although Singapore is well known to be a very safe place, crimes still happen.  Singapore Immersion Programme participants should be vigilant and careful about their valuables and themselves. Do not wander away from the group alone.
The plug used for electrical appliances is different from India's.  All of you are advised to bring an adaptor for the same to meet the needs of your electrical appliances.  Please find below the picture of the correct plug/socket (the one with a tick).

Singapore is generally a hot and humid place.  Average temperature is about 26 degrees Celsius and between 24 and 32 degree Celsius.  Average relative humility is about 80%.  You are advised to dress comfortably (cotton material) and bring along umbrella (it rains in Singapore quite often).  Bring a jacket for air-conditioned places.
There are a lot of fines in Singapore.  Do not litter, do flush after using toilet, do not jaywalk, do not spit - are just some of them.  Although some Singaporeans still do those things, it's just that they are not caught.  But we need not take the risk.
Singaporeans tend to queue up when buying things and applying for something at a counter. It is strongly recommeded that you too do the same.
Singapore's water is drinkable, including the water from the tap.  You do not need to boil or filter the water from the tap.  So technically, you need not buy any bottled water.  You just need to have a bottle and fill it up from the tap.
Younger generation Singaporeans can speak English.  Older generation (60 years old and above) may not be able to.  Language should not be an issue.  English is the official working language.
Reminder: Singapore is very strict with trafficking of drugs (death penalty).  All of you must be very careful with your luggages while in the airport or on the plane so that someone cannot drop anything in them. If there is provision to lock the pockets of your hand baggage, do lock them. Rest are advised to be very careful.
